Review a student's last accessed date to a course in D2L Brightspace

Summary

How can I tell when was the last date a student accessed my course? Can I check when my students last logged in to my course in D2L Brightspace? How far back does this data go?

Class Progress - Course Access

The Class Progress tool provides the login activity for when the student recent log history to an individual D2L Brightspace course. The data goes back to the last 30 calendar days.

  1. In the course navbar, navigate to Course Admin.
  2. Click the Class Progress link.
  3. On the Class Progress page, click on the student's name in the list.

  4. Click the Course Access option in the left-hand pane.

Note: A student must enter the Brightspace course to be included in ‘Course Access’.  If a student views content or grades directly within the Pulse app, that does not count as access.

Course Access > Last Accessed date

The Course Access page displays a historical record of the student’s access to an individual course, specifically the last 30 days of access. Last Access on this page is the date the student last accessed your D2L Brightspace course.

Classlist – Last Accessed column

  1. Navigate to the Classlist tool.
  2. Click the Students tab.
  3. For the student, view the date/time the student last accessed the course under the Last Accessed column.

  4. Optional: You can also sort the Last Accessed column or search by a specific Last Accessed date using the search options on the Classlist page.
    • Click the Show Search Options link,
    • Select a specific start date and/or end date for Last Accessed, and
    • Then click the Search icon to update the search results.
