Overview
To provide you with greater flexibility and control over your teaching goals, the Discover tool allows individuals to self-unenroll in non-academic courses in D2L Brightspace.
Manage approval requests in Discover
Your local D2L Campus Site Admin can set a course to require your approval before an individual can self-enroll in the non-academic course. As the facilitator of the course, you can manage approval requests by navigating to the Discover tool’s Manage Requests page.
To approve or decline enrollment requests
- Navigate to the main home page (outside of a course) in D2L Brightspace.
- Click the Discover link from the navigation bar.
- Click Manage Requests.

- The Manage Requests page displays a table with all individual approval requests. Each individual is labeled with one of the following:
- Pending: The request requires your approval and the individual has not been enrolled in the course.
- Approved: The request is approved and the individual is self-enrolled in the course.
- Declined: The request is declined and the individual is not enrolled in the course.

- Click an individual’s name.
- Click one of the following:
- Approve or Approve and Next: The request is approved. The individual is notified via the update alerts in the Brightspace minibar.

- Decline or Decline and Next: The Decline Request window opens. If desired, enter a comment. The individual is notified of the declined request via the update alerts in the Brightspace minibar.
