Connect a Class Teams Assignment in D2L Brightspace

Overview

When using a Microsoft Class Team created through School Data Sync (SDS), enrollments are auto-populated into the Microsoft Class Team.  If your class team uses auto-enrollments, you can connect that Team to a Brightspace course and link to Teams Assignments.  Assignment grade scores will be returned to the Brightspace gradebook.  Note: If the Brightspace email does not match the Microsoft365 email, grade sync may not work for that individual.

Create a Teams Assignment

1. Navigate to the Brightspace Content tool
2. Select Existing Activities > Microsoft Teams Assignment.
3. Pair the Brightspace course with the Microsoft Team
   Note: Only auto-enrollment (SDS-created) Teams will show.  Manually-created Teams are not an option to integrate.
4. Create or select the assignment.

Grade Synchronization

Upon completion of the assignment and a score being published, the grade score will be sent to the D2L Brightspace gradebook.

Note: If the student's email address does not match the Microsoft 365 email, grade synchronization will not be possible, and the score must be manually transferred.
