To do business with Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, suppliers must be registered in the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system, managed by the Minnesota Department of Administration. This system is used for purchasing and payment across all state agencies.

Why You Need to Register

Registering in SWIFT is required in order to:

  • Receive payments
  • Respond to solicitations (RFPs, IFBs, etc.)
  • Enter into contracts with Minnesota State

Steps to Register

  1. Visit the Supplier Portal
    Go to the SWIFT Supplier Portal to begin the registration process.
  2. Click “Register for an Account”
    On the portal home page, click on “Register for an Account” under the Supplier Registration section.
  3. Complete the Registration Form
    You will be asked to provide your company information, including:
    • Legal business name
    • Tax identification number (TIN)
    • Contact details
    • Business type and diversity classifications (if applicable)
  4. Receive Supplier ID
    After completing your registration, you will receive a Supplier ID Number—you’ll need this ID to do business with any state agency, including Minnesota State.
  5. Maintain Your Information
    Make sure your contact, banking, and address information stays up to date in SWIFT to avoid delays in contracting or payment.
