1. Determine your location
- Not on a campus or system office location: connect to COVID VPN, then go to Step 2.
- On a campus or at a system office location: go to Step 2.
2. Install the EMS for Outlook Plugin
- Before installing the plugin, you must already have an EMS web account. Use your 8-character StarID and password to sign into: https://minnstate.bookitadmin.minnstate.edu
- Click on the Windows Start button in the taskbar.
- Type "Software Center" and open the Software Center app.
- In the upper-right corner, type "EMS" in the Search field.
- Double-click on the EMS for Outlook plugin icon to install.
- Close the Software Center window.
3. Validate Outlook
- Close Outlook if the desktop app is open on your computer.
- Reopen Outlook and navigate to your Calendar.
- Make sure the "Try New Outlook" button in the upper-right corner is set to OFF.
- On the Home ribbon, on the far right, you will see a EMS Software Online button. Do NOT click the green EMS icon!
4. Navigate to the New Appointment or New Meeting Icon (located on the left of the Home ribbon)
- Click on either New Appointment or New Meeting
5. Locate the Show section on the Appointment ribbon
- You should see options for Appointment and Campus Room Scheduling. You've successfully installed the EMS for Outlook plugin.
Troubleshooting the EMS for Outlook Plugin
Troubleshooting is unique to the specific college/university and the settings that have been configured by the individual user. Please submit a service desk ticket. Please include a screen capture of the error if possible, and put the name of the error you're seeing into the name/description of the ticket.
