Content

Default visual border removed from embedded LTI activity in Content webpages

With the July 2026 release, the default gray border no longer displays around embedded LTI activities on Content webpages. This update applies to both newly added and existing LTI activities, including H5P content. Removing the border improves visual consistency and reduces the need for custom styling or workarounds.

Notes:

  • Only affects the visual appearance of the embedded LTI activity border when viewing the Content webpage. The visual border may still display when editing the Content webpage.

  • It does not apply to other areas in Content where LTI activities can be embedded, such as descriptions for modules/units.

  • There should be no impact on the embedded LTI activity's functionality or accessibility by removing the visual border.

New Manage Groups experience available to try out

With the With the July 2026 release, a new Manage Groups experience is available for instructors to try out, helping manage course groups more efficiently.

When accessing the Groups tool, an instructor is prompted to:

  • Turn it on to opt into the new Manage Groups experience, or

  • Leave it off to opt out of the new experience.

An instructor can opt in or out at any time from the fly-down menu on the Groups > Manage Groups pages.

An instructor can choose whether to opt-in to the new Manage Groups experience from the fly-down banner from the course Groups tool.

The new Manage Groups experience has two main pages: Group Category and Recycling Bin.

  • Group Category — displays all group categories on a single page. Instructors can review existing categories, including each category’s enrollment type, number of groups, and associated activities. Each activity links to its related discussions or assignments.
  • Recycling Bin — presents visual updates to the existing recycle bin, including new filtering and search options. These updates do not change how instructors delete or restore groups and categories.

Additionally, the Enroll Users term has been renamed to Manage Members on some pages. Future Brightspace releases will update the term to be consistent across the Groups tool pages.

Note: There is a blank column for group Lockers, which we do not use in D2L Brightspace.

The group category page lists individual groups and provides actions to manage the category, add groups, and access each group's assignments and discussions.
