Problem
While using the Brightspace HTML Editor, I see the following error message that prevents me from using the editor:
The editor is disabled because the TinyMCE license key could not be validated.
Cause
D2L is aware of this issue when the device is using the Survey Junkie or Survey Junkie Plus app or extension. These applications intercept web requests to gather marketing and tracking data from a user's browser, and blocks TinyMCE's license check. As such, the editor is unable to function.
Solution
In order to determine if this is the issue, please try the following options:
- Use a different browser (one that you normally don't use)
- If the problem continues in a different browser, check your computer's installed apps/programs for Survey Junkie. Uninstall the app.
- If the problem does not continue in a different browser, go back to the original browser, and look for an add-on or extension for Survey Junkie. Uninstall the extension.
- If you cannot find a Survey Junkie app or extension, but the problem persists, try using a different computer/device to see if the problem continues.
