Overview
You've set up Outcome Sets and followed the recommended coding patterns. Now what? How do you get all of those outcomes into courses?
The system office learning technologies team can perform a bulk import process that identifies courses in a term, and imports the appropriate outcomes into each of those courses.
Options
The Learning Outcomes Course Import process has two options to specify:
- What term (semester) should be processed?
- Do you want to process outcomes for ALL outcome sets, or only a specific one?
Frequently Asked Questions
- If the process has already been run on a given semester, can we run it again for that same semester?
- Yes! Running the import process will NOT duplicate any outcomes that have been previously imported.
- If my outcomes have multiple versions, which outcomes will be imported?
- In the case where multiple version exist (ACCT.1001_24FA, ACCT.1001_26SP), we will import the most recent version, based on an alphabetical descending order (ACCT.1001_26SP, ACCT.1001_24FA).
- What if a previous version is already in the course?
- The process will flag that as an 'outdated outcome', and will import the latest version. You will need to filter the output of the process to find the outdated outcome courses, and follow-up directly with the instructor.
- Can I import program outcomes?
- No. If your outcomes do not align with course subjects and course numbers, automatic mapping is not possible. We must be able to identify a course by the term provided, the subject, and course number. Example: Fa27 ACCT 1002
