Licensing options

The 2020-2021 academic year (ending July 31, 2021) was the final year that the system office ASA covered the cost of the Respondus Quiz Generator license.

Starting August 1, 2021, a new license key is required for Institutions who wish to continue to use the Respondus Quiz Generator. Each Institution may purchase a separate Campus-wide Respondus license. A Campus-wide license offers the Single-Sign On for StarID authentication to D2L Brightspace. Reach out to Anna Desmond (at Respondus) to discuss Respondus license pricing.

For individual those who purchase a single Respondus license, the single license does not provide Single-Sign On for StarID authentication into D2L Brightspace. This means that individuals with StarID accounts will not be able to use the Publish or Retrieve options in the Respondus Quiz Generator to pull and push quizzes between Respondus and D2L Brightspace.

Instead, quizzes must be manually exported into a package from the D2L Brightspace course, and then imported into the Respondus Quiz Generator. Likewise, quizzes created or updated in Respondus must be exported as a package (QTI XML) and then imported into the D2L Brightspace course.
