Overview
When you use the ‘Kaltura Media’ integration within D2L Brightspace, you are inserting an External Learning Tool (LTI) link to a MediaSpace video. When you open the Brightspace content topic, the External Learning Tool is launched validating that you have the permission to see the video.
You’ll see a ‘Page Not Found’ error when the External Learning Tool link is not available for use. This generally happens one of two ways:
Fixing the ‘Page Not Found’ error for copied courses
You have two options for fixing the error:
Copy the missing External Learning Tool links in to the course
- Navigate to Course Admin from the Course Tools menu > Import/Export/Copy Components in the destination course (the one with the broken videos).
- Search for the course offering that the video content topics were copied from.
- Click Select Components.

- If there are a small number of External Learning Tool links, and they have not been copied already, select copy all items. Otherwise, choose Select individual items to copy and select the correct link(s).

- Click Continue
- Once the copy has completed, navigate back to the video content topic and preview it. It should now be showing the video.
Best practice for copying courses with MediaSpace videos
When you copy materials from another course, and they include MediaSpace videos, please opt to either:
- Copy all course components, or
- Include ‘External Learning Tools’ when selecting specific components to copy.
Fixing the ‘Page Not Found’ error for exported/imported courses
You have two options for fixing the error:
- Re-insert the MediaSpace video in the content HTML topic, or
- Add the MediaSpace video as a new content topic using Add Existing > Kaltura Media, and then delete the content topic with the ‘page not found’ error.
Both options are outlined in instructor article to share your media in D2L Brightspace.
Best practice for exported/imported courses with MediaSpace videos
When you export a course from Brightspace that includes MediaSpace videos, please opt to either:
- Export all course components, or
- Include ‘External Learning Tools’ when selecting specific components to export.
