How do I use the Examity proctoring integration within my D2L Brightspace course?

Overview

The Examity proctoring LTI integration makes use of a school-wide External Learning Tool (LTI) link and a data integration.  The LTI link is shared with all courses within the school. 

Examity Proctoring allows for an instructor to use the shared LTI link to set up a proctored exam. The student will use the LTI link to schedule and launch a proctored exam session. 

Instructions for Use

Insert a Link

  1. Navigate to the Brightspace Content tool.
  2. Click Existing Activities External Learning Tools.
  3. Click Examity.
  4. Click the content topic created above to launch into the Examity dashboard.

Add a Proctored Exam

  1. Ensure the quiz in your D2L Brightspace course is configured with:
    • Start and End Dates
    • Password
  2. Click the LTI content topic, created in the steps above.

    Examity will retrieve the course and quiz information during the night, and it will show up in the Examity dashboard the next day.
  3. To view the quiz and adjust any proctoring rules, click Courses/Exams, expand the course, and click on the pencil icon.

    Note: If you edit details such as the quiz name, dates, or password, it will take precedence over the Brightspace quiz details.Any changes to those items within Brightspace afterward, would not populate automatically.Recommendation: Only adjust quiz names and dates within D2L Brightspace.

View a Proctored Exam

  1. To view the outcome of a proctored exam, click on the Examity External Learning Tool link created above.
    Click the LTI content topic
  2. Click Exam Status.
    Click Exam Status
  3. To view a particular student’s proctored session, click View.
