What is CommonLook?
CommonLook by Allyant is a suite of tools for creating, validating, and remediation of accessible PDFs. Minnesota State adopted this solution to support compliance with updated ADA Title II requirements and to align with tools already used by State of Minnesota agencies.
Product Options
- CommonLook Office: Creates accessible PDFs directly from Word and PowerPoint (as a plug-in).
- CommonLook PDF: Advanced PDF remediation tool for fixing complex or legacy documents.
- CommonLook Clarity: Indexes institutional websites to identify PDFs and track accessibility status.
- CommonLook PDF Validator: FREE standalone validator for checking PDF accessibility.
- CommonLook Suite: Bundles CommonLook Office, PDF, and Clarity products.
Purchasing
Minnesota State Negotiated Pricing
- CommonLook Office: $322.53 per annual license (requires annual renewal)
- CommonLook Suite: $703.57 per annual license (requires annual renewal)
- Training: The system office funded initial training modules for the first cohort of licenses. Future training costs for new license purchases will be the responsibility of each campus.
How to Purchase Licenses
1. Request a Quote
Email allyant@carahsoft.com with quantities and part numbers.

2. Submit a Purchase Order
- Supplier: Carahsoft Tech Corp
- Send the purchase order to allyant@carahsoft.com
- Carahsoft signatures are not required because the master agreement already covers pricing and terms.
3. Create Sub-Agreement in Marketplace (JAGGAER)
- Contract Type: SOW
- Select the CommonLook master contract as the parent contract
- Use the eSignature workflow
- Ensure contract dates fall within the master contract term
4. Invoice and Documentation
- Verify that pricing and deliverables match the contract before paying invoices
- Keep all documentation with the contract file

Training
Allyant provides training through a dedicated online platform, which requires the purchase and assignment of a training voucher/access code.
