Option to turn off students' access to question annotation tools on a quiz-by-quiz basis
The August 2026 release introduces the question annotation tools in Quizzes. Students can bookmark questions to more easily revisit and apply strikethrough formatting to answer options.

Students can select the bookmark icon beside a question to flag it for review. Bookmarked questions appear with a visual indicator in the question navigation list, allowing students to find them more easily.

Students can also select the strikethrough icon beside a question's answer options they believe are incorrect. The strikethrough icon is available for true or false, multiple choice, and multi-select questions only.

The question annotation tools are for the student's personal use. These tools and the markup are not included in the students' quiz submissions.

Instructors can choose to turn off the students' access to question annotation tools per quiz. To turn off, select the 'Hide question annotation tools' check box when creating or editing a quiz.

New search field in Source and Question Type menus when adding questions from the Question Library
With the August 2026 release, when an instructor adds existing questions from the question library, a new search field has been added to the Source and Question Type menus.
The search option provides a faster way for instructors to find and select the source (such as the quiz title) and refine their search by one or more question types.
For example, when creating a quiz, select Add Questions > Browse Question Library. Search the Question Types menu by the keyword 'multi' would return the search results for multiple choice, multi-select, and multi-short answer questions.
