Effective October 15, 2026, new and updated features within D2L Brightspace are available to Students as part of the October 2026 release. 

Release highlights include updates to Widgets. 

 

 

Widgets

View specific time for upcoming and overdue activities in the Work To Do widget

With the October 2026 release, the Work To Do widget now displays the specific time an activity is due or ends when a student hovers their cursor over or long-presses on an activity date. This update gives a student the precise time for the activity deadline from the Work To Do widget.​

Previously, the Work To Do widget displayed only the date an activity was due or ended after the student selected the activity link to review its details. ​
