Overview
Navigate to the Awards from the Other Tools menu in the course navigation bar.
The My Awards tool enables students to access merit-based awards granted by instructors of a course. There are two types of awards: Badges and Certificates.
- Badges are awarded based on any criteria determined by the instructor. They are meant to provide digital markers that represent accomplishment throughout a course or program.
- Certificates are also awarded based on criteria determined by the instructor. Certificates are similar to Badges; however, they include a PDF that students can print. Certificates typically indicate an official statement of certification or award at the end of a program, but can be awarded during the course for other criteria as well.
Viewing My Awards
You can view the awards you've earned and the awards available to be earned in the My Awards tool. All awards are displayed as images and you can click on an image to view more details.
- Navigate to the Awards from the Other Tools menu in the course navigation bar.
- To access the awards you've already earned, review the My Awards page.
- To filter the awards that appear, click All, Badges, or Certificates.
- To view all the awards you've earned in the courses you have participated in, select Include awards from other courses.
- To view the other awards that you have not yet earned in the course, click View Available Awards.
Download an Award Certificate
You can download an award certificate PDF file for an award you've earned. Review this download an award certificate in Awards MediaSpace video to learn more.
- Navigate to the Awards from the Other Tools menu in the course navigation bar.
- To access the awards you've already earned, review the Certificate section on the My Awards page.
- Click on the name of a certificate to review the details.
- Click on the Generate Certificate link to open the certificate in your browser, or your browser may download it automatically to your downloads folder.
- If your browser opens the certificate in the new browser tab, check your downloads folder on your device for the award certificate. Otherwise, click on the Save button and choose where to download the certificate to your device.
Share your earned awards in Profile, ePortfolio, or to a public URL
Earning awards in a course is a great accomplishment. You can share the good Announcements with others by sharing the award to your D2L Brightspace profile or Brightspace ePortfolio.
- Navigate to the Awards from the Other Tools menu in the course navigation bar.
- Find the awards that you want to share.
- If you want to filter awards to the specific course you are currently viewing, clear the Include awards from other courses checkbox.
- Click the Share link on the award you want to share.
- Select the location where you want to share the award.
- To share to your Brightspace Profile, click Share to User Profile.
- To share to your Brightspace ePortfolio, click Share to ePortfolio.
- To share to a public URL, click Create link and Copy Link.
- The award is shared to that location.
- Click Close to return to the Awards tool.
Remove an award from your Profile or ePortfolio
- Navigate to the Awards from the Other Tools menu in the course navigation bar.
- Find the awards that you want to remove from your Profile or ePortfolio.
- If you want to filter awards to the specific course you are currently viewing, clear the Include awards from other courses checkbox.
- Click the Share link on the award you want to share.
- Select the location where you want to remove the award.
- To remove from your Brightspace Profile, click Remove from Profile.
- To remove from your Brightspace ePortfolio, click Remove from ePortfolio.
- The award is no longer shared in that location.
- Click Close to return to the Awards tool.
