Add SCORM in Content in D2L Brightspace

Upload a SCORM package to Brightspace

To upload a SCORM package into D2L Brightspace, follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to the Content tool.
  2. Select a unit. 
  3. Select Add Existing > SCORM/xAPI Object.
  4. Select Bulk Upload.

  5. Drag your SCORM packages (maximum of 50) to the upload dialog.
  6. Click Keep Default Properties for all files.

  7. At this point, the SCORM package is under your Brightspace account at your school. 
  8. To create the SCORM activities as content topics in your Brightspace course, follow the next section. 

Create a SCORM activity topic (inserting a link to a SCORM package)

After uploading the SCORM package using the actions above, you can add the SCORM activity as a topic in your Brightspace course.

  1. Navigate to the Content tool.
  2. Expand the unit you want to add the SCORM activity topic to. 
  3. Select Add Existing > SCORM/xAPI Object.
  4. Select the button next to one of your previous SCORM uploads.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the appropriate options for your SCORM package.
    Helpful Tip: If you keep Always display the latest update selected, you can later upload a new version of the SCORM package and have any previously linked topic updated automatically.

  7. Select Add.
  8. The SCORM activity is added as a new content topic. You may adjust the topic's properties as needed. 

Updating an existing SCORM package

If you have previously uploaded a SCORM object and need to make a change, you can overwrite the existing SCORM object with a new package.

  1. Navigate to the Content tool.
  2. Select a unit. 
  3. Select Add Existing > SCORM/xAPI Object.
  4. Next to the SCORM object, click the menu (three dots).
  5. Click Manage Versions.
    For an existing SCORM package, select Manage Versions from the three-dot menu.
  6. Drag your SCORM packages (maximum of 50) to the upload dialog.
  7. After the file has finished processing, click Publish.

  8. Click Publish to confirm updating the asset everywhere it is inserted.
  9. The new version is listed as the published version. You may select the three-dot menu for a previous version to access the option to revert to it.
