Accessibility+ Alternate Formats for Instructors
Accessibility+ Alternate Formats enable the streamlined conversion of D2L course resources into accessible/inclusive formats that meet diverse learner needs. This document details the specific content we support, the types of alternate formats Accessibility+ provides, and how to access them.
Who Is This Guide For?
This document is for instructors using D2L. It provides guidance on how to access and download alternate formats within courses.
How to Access the Alternate Formats
- When the instructor locates a course document, an Accessibility+ icon appears at the top of the document window.
- Click the Accessibility+ icon. A drawer opens up to show two tabs — Accessibility Report and Alternative Formats.

- Select the Alternate Format tab to view the list of available alternate formats for the resource.

- Select the Download icon next to your preferred alternate format to begin the download.

Note: If any accessibility issues exist in the original resource, a caution message will appear above the list of alternate formats. This message alerts users to fix these issues before generating an alternate format to ensure the resulting files are accessible.

- A toast message will appear confirming that your request was successful.
