Workday Link (URL) Change and Cloud Migration Frequently Asked Questions

Workday is initiating a mandatory move of the Minnesota State Workday platform to a new cloud environment. This move will provide a standardized, high-performance platform with improved capabilities, stronger security, and faster updates.

Starting April 25, 2026, all Minnesota State Workday users must access Workday using the new URL: https://wd115.myworkday.com/minnstate/login.htmld

Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • Why am I getting an error message when I try to access Workday?
    • You may be trying to access Workday using the old URL. As of April 25, 2026, you will need to use the new link found at the top of this article.
  • Will the website be down for a short period of time?
    • Workday will be unavailable during the transition from 10 a.m. CDT April 25, 2026, to 10 a.m. CDT April 26, 2026.
  • Is there another way to access Workday?
    • Yes, you can access Workday via My Apps. You may need to log in to your Microsoft365 account. Once logged in you will see the Workday tile under the Minnstate Apps tab. The Workday URL will automatically be updated after the migration occurs. 
  • Why aren’t the links in my Workday task emails working?
    • Links found in emails sent by Workday prior to April 25, 2026 will not work after the cloud migration occurs. You will need to log in to Workday using the new URL and manually access your tasks and notifications. Links found in emails sent by Workday after April 25 will work as intended. See screen shot below for location of tasks and notifications within Workday.

Campus Websites

  • I attempted to access Workday via a link on my institution’s website, but I am getting an error message.
    • The link on the website may not be updated to the new URL yet. Access Workday using the new link (found at the top of this article).

Marketing and Communications

  • I manage web content (websites/SharePoint sites/connect sites) for my institution. What do I need to do?
    • Anywhere Workday is linked on your website, intranet, in training materials, or other documentation will need to be updated to the new Workday link (found at the top of this article).

Recruiting

  • I or someone I know is having trouble with Workday links found in job applications.
    • If you are receiving error messages from Workday Links within job applications, please email careers@minnstate.edu for support.
