Student worker training courses in D2L Brightspace

Overview

Starting in January 2026, there is a new way to add student worker training resources in D2L Brightspace. Within a course, add a content topic LTI link that goes to the annual student worker training course (stored in the MnSite Brightspace site). The student completes the course via the LTI link and their 'final grade' completion is sent back to your course grade book. 

Link to the Annual Student Worker Training

  1. Within your school's Brightspace course for student training.
  2. Navigate to the Content tool. 
  3. From Add Existing > select External Tool Activity.
  4. Select Create New LTI Link.
  5. Enter the Title, such as Annual Student Training.
  6. Paste the following into the LTI URL: https://328cbaa2-ddfc-4361-9b6c-cc69aa6bdb62.prod-us-east-1.ees.brightspace.com/lti/launch/7475921
  7. Select Create and Insert. 
  8. The content topic is created.
    Note: Avoid clicking on the topic title. If you do happen to select the topic title, it will launch the LTI Link, which enrolls your CSA account as a Student role in the MnSite course. 

Notes

  • Upon selecting the content topic LTI link, the student in your course is taken directly into the Annual Student Worker Training course in MnSite.
  • The student views/completes the topics in the MnSite course.
  • The student's final grade is sent back to your Brightspace course under the new grade item, called "Final Grade for Annual Student Worker Training".

  1. Within your school's Brightspace course for student worker safety training.
  2. Navigate to the Content tool. 
  3. From Add Existing > select External Tool Activity.
  4. Select Create New LTI Link.
  5. Enter the Title, such as Annual Student Safety Training.
  6. Paste the following into the LTI URL: https://328cbaa2-ddfc-4361-9b6c-cc69aa6bdb62.prod-us-east-1.ees.brightspace.com/lti/launch/7614781
  7. Select Create and Insert. 
  8. The content topic is created.
