Overview
AEFIS allows for an instructor to view the course syllabus and course outcomes, as well as the retrieval of assessment data from D2L Brightspace. Data retrieval is done through an API connection, where the instructor authorizes AEFIS to pull course information, assignment data, and grade data out of Brightspace and into the AEFIS platform.
Instructions for Use
Insert a Link
Within your D2L Brightspace course, you’ll want to add the AEFIS External Learning Tool link.
- Navigate to the Brightspace Content tool.
- Click Existing Activities > External Learning Tools.
- Click AEFIS Tools.
- Click on the newly-created content topic.
Note: Depending on your school’s configuration, the AEFIS Tools link may be available on the navbar.
Retrieve Assignment Data
Upon clicking the AEFIS Tools External Learning Tool link, you’ll be able to pull data into AEFIS from your Brightspace course.
- Click on the AEFIS menu.
- Scroll down and click on Assignment Linking.
- If this is your first time in AEFIS, you will be prompted to Authorize AEFIS to access your Brightspace course.
Known Limitations
Due to Minnesota State security requirements, the following features are not available:
- Service account data syncing - Instead, an instructor will complete the authorization and data syncing.
