Learning Outcomes tool is not available in D2L Brightspace

Learning Outcomes is not available on Course Admin screen

Upon navigating to the Course Admin screen, the Learning Outcomes tool is not available as a tool link. 

Check if Competencies are in your course

1. From the course navbar, click Course Tools > Course Admin.
2. Click Competencies.
3. Expand the 'By Hierachy' heading. If Competencies or Learning Objectives exist in your course, the Learning Outcomes tool will not be available in the course. 
4. If no competencies or learning objectives exist in your course, contact your local Brightspace Campus Site Admin to further troubleshoot access to the Learning Outcomes tool. 

Exclude Competencies when copying from the course

If you want to copy materials and activities from this source course that contains Competencies, make sure to copy select components and exclude Competencies. Then in your destination course, the Learning Outcomes tool will be available. 

1. Navigate to the destination course where you want to use Learning Outcomes and the tool displays in Course Admin.
2. From the course navbar, click Course Tools > Course Admin.
3. Click Import/Export/Copy Components. 
4. Select Copy Course Components radio button.
5. Search for the source course you want to copy that also contains Competencies.
6. Click Select Components.
   
7. Select the Select All Components check box.
8. Unselect the Competencies check box. 
   
9. Click Continue.
10. Click Finish. 
11. Once the copy has completed, navigate using the Course Tools > Course Admin in the course navbar. 
12. The Learning Outcomes tool should be available on the Course Admin screen.
