Subscribe to class Notifications in D2L Brightspace

Notification options

You can choose to receive automated alerts in various ways within an online class.  For instance, you may subscribe to receive upcoming notifications by email, alerts within D2L Brightspace, and push notifications from the Brightspace Pulse mobile app.

Automated alerts are available in the minibar when logged into D2L Brightspace. These minibar alerts notify you with new messages, course updates, or subscription updates. If you have an unread alert, a circle appears on the alert icon.

Subscribe to automated course notifications

1. When logged into D2L Brightspace, open the Personal menu in the minibar.
2. Select Notifications.
   
3. Set up an email contact method.
4. Select the notifications you want to subscribe to.
5. Click Save.

Opt-out of automated notifications for a course

1. When logged into D2L Brightspace, open the Personal menu in the minibar.
2. Select Notifications.
   
3. Under the Exclude Some Courses section, click Manage my course exclusions. 
4. Search for the course you want to exclude. 
5. Click the 'x' icon next to the course. 
6. Click Close. 
7. Back on the Notifications page, click Save.
