Overview
Create and edit your user profile through the Profile tool in D2L Brightspace. Filling out your profile is optional, but this feature is a great way to let others know about yourself.
Your profile information is accessible to others through the Classlist tool. Your profile picture is shown next to your discussion posts and your name in the Classlist. Profile information also appears on profile cards, which display whenever you hover over or click on the thumbnail image of another person.
Depending on the information you include in your profile, profile cards can show other users any of the following:
- your uploaded image
- your preferred nickname
- and other optional information you may provide
Create your personal profile
Important: Your profile picture is accessible in the Profile tool, the Classlist tool, and the Discussions tool in each class you are enrolled in D2L Brightspace.
- On the navigation minibar, select Profile from your personal menu (where your name is listed).
- In your Profile, you may add information about yourself, including your profile picture, nickname, social networks, and education information.
- To set your profile picture:
- To upload and display a profile picture, Change Picture then click Browse or Upload, an image, then Add.
- Before uploading a profile image, the navigation minibar displays the initials of your first and last names.
- When finished entering information into your profile, click Save and Close.
