Technology Standards

Summary

Provides information on standard software and hardware provided to system office employees.

Body

Core Applications / Standard Software

Refer to this list of standard software provided to system office computers. Requests for additional software should be submitted via a service request. Licensing costs may apply.

Computing Hardware Standards

System Office computing technology is on a 5-year lifecycle. The System Office has adopted this list of computing hardware standards for technology purchases. Note that Apple, Chrome and non-Windows based devices as well as Microsoft Surface tablets are not supported.

Requests for changes or upgrades outside of the lifecycle period should align with current hardware standards and must be paid for by the requesting department.

System Office employees are allotted one computing device per person.

Moving, transfer or redistribution of computing devices must be requested through and managed by the Desktop Support Services team via a Minnesota State Service Desk service request.
