Subscribe to class Notifications in D2L Brightspace

Overview

You can choose to receive notification alerts in various ways within an online class. For instance, you may subscribe to receive upcoming notifications by email, alerts within D2L Brightspace, and push notifications on your device from the Brightspace Pulse mobile app.

Notifications

Notification alerts are available in the minibar when logged into D2L Brightspace. These minibar alerts notify you with new messages, course updates, or subscription updates. If you have a new alert, a circle appears on the alert icon in the minibar.

Subscribe to notifications

1. When logged into D2L Brightspace, open the personal menu in the minibar (where your name displays).
2. Select Notifications.
   
3. Set up an email contact method.
4. Select the notifications you want to subscribe to.
5. Select Save.

Exclude some courses from your notifications

1. When logged into D2L Brightspace, open the personal menu in the minibar (where your name displays).
2. Select Notifications.
   
3. Under the Exclude Some Courses section, select Manage my course exclusions. 
4. Search for the course you want to exclude. 
5. Select the 'x' icon next to the course. (Note: To restore a course, select the back arrow next to the course.)
6. Select Close. 
7. Back on the Notifications page, select Save.
