Topic "Post to Course Homepage" for Content in D2L Brightspace

Overview

When a course has the Activity Feed widget on the homepage, it provides the "Post to Course Homepage" option for a topic in Content. Please contact your local Brightspace Campus Site Admin to learn more about the Activity Feed widget.

Important: The topic's "post" option is only available to you as the instructor. Students will have the "post" option in Content, but an error is thrown so the post cannot be created. Please refer students to create and reply to posts from the Activity Feed widget instead. 

"Post to Course Homepage" from Content

  1. Select Content in the course navigation bar.
  2. Expand a module (unit).
  3. From the topic's options (3-dot) menu, select Post to Course Homepage 
  4. Enter comments in message field and select Post. 
  5. Navigate to the course homepage. 
  6. In the Activity Feed widget, the newly created post has the content topic as an attachment. 

Notes:

  • After the topic has been posted to the Activity Feed widget from Content, the Post to Course Homepage option is no longer available from that topic's options (3-dot) menu in Content.
  • To post again about that topic, navigate to the Activity Feed widget on the course homepage to create a post, add an attachment, select existing activity, and select the content topic.
