Delete and restore a student's Quiz attempt in D2L Brightspace

Overview

As an instructor, you can delete a quiz attempt for a student if you are allowing the student to retake their attempt, such as if the attempt is in-progress or if it already has been submitted. You can also restore a deleted quiz attempt from the quiz attempt logs.

Delete a quiz attempt

  1. Navigate to the Quizzes tool.
  2. Select Grade from the quiz’s menu.
  3. Select the check box next to the quiz attempt you want to delete.
  4. Select the Delete icon.
  5. Select Yes in the confirmation window.
  6. The page refreshes automatically with the attempt removed for the student and a ‘Deleted successfully' message displays.
  7. The student is now able to retake the quiz attempt, as long as the quiz has not closed, or the student has special access to take the quiz.

Restore a deleted quiz attempt from Quizzes

Instructors can restore individual deleted quiz attempts for students from within a quiz using the Quiz Attempt log.  The Quiz Attempt log tracks quiz attempt submissions per student, in both an overview and detailed set of logs.
