Kaltura Mediaspace: Migrate from legacy D2L Brightspace embed

Summary

As of December 19^th, 2024 legacy Mediaspace embeds no longer function.  Prior to that date, the following message would have displayed to viewers of the video:

If the video has not been re-embedded, Brightspace will produce the following message:

Unknown error. Ensure that all of your Kaltura config variables are properly set.

The instructions below provide steps for re-embedding the affected media in D2L Brightspace.

Re-embedding Broken Media

1. Navigate to the edit page for the item that contains the broken video. (In this example, we will use an Announcement.)
2. Within the HTML editor, select the More Actions button (three dots).
3. Select the View Source button.
   
4. Locate the entryId value between the equals (=) sign and the ampersand (&):
   entryId=1_drdi1a1b&
5. Alternatively, locate the Title of the video:
   title="Video Title: Welcome to Class"
6. Select the View Source modal.
7. Select the Insert Stuff button on the HTML Editor toolbar.
8. Select Kaltura Media.
9. Search for the Title or EntryId from steps 4 or 5.
10. Select Embed, and then select Insert.
