Kaltura Mediaspace: Migrate from legacy D2L Brightspace embed

Summary

As of December 19^th, 2024 legacy Mediaspace embeds no longer function.  Prior to that date, viewers of the video would have seen the following message:

If the video has not been re-embedded, Brightspace will produce the following message:

Unknown error. Ensure that all of your Kaltura config variables are properly set.

The instructions below provide steps for re-embedding affected media.

Re-embedding Broken Media

1. Edit the item that contains the broken video.This example will use an Announcement.
2. Within the HTML editor, click on the More Actions button (three dots).
3. Click the View Source button.
   
4. Locate the entryId value between the equals (=) sign and the ampersand (&):
   entryId=1_drdi1a1b&
5. Alternatively, locate the Title of the video:
   title="Video Title: Welcome to Class"
6. Click the View Source modal.
7. Click the Insert Stuff button on the HTML Editor toolbar.
8. Click Kaltura Media.
9. Search for the Title or EntryId from steps 4 or 5.
10. Click Embed, and then Insert.
