Service Description
ENTSEC is an Enterprise Security Lock -- i.e., a lock placed by, or on behalf of, the SO security team. This prevents a user from changing their password in StarID self-service. It does not prevent StarID Administrators from resetting the password. The lock is used when there is an urgent need to prevent a user from logging into anything that requires their StarID for authentication. The minimum requirements for placing an ENTSEC lock are 1) reason for lock versus ‘normal’ end dating account, 2) appropriate approval (CHRO/designee for employees; Dean of Students/Student Conduct Officer for students) and 3) duration of the lock (without a provided duration from the institution, three-week timeframe will be used).
