Unsubscribe from email notifications from D2L Brightspace

Overview

Students and instructors can use the unsubscribe link in a notification email from D2L Brightspace. The individual may wish to unsubscribe to reduce unwanted emails. Selecting the unsubscribe link opens a confirmation screen that allows an individual to opt out of their Brightspace email notifications (instant and summary).

Notes:

• The unsubscribe process does not require the individual to enter their D2L Brightspace login credentials, which allows them to opt out with logging in.
• If the individual accidentally chooses to unsubscribe, they must log in to D2L Brightspace to re-subscribe from the Notifications tool. 
• This unsubscribe process does not opt you out of emails sent directly to you (such as from an instructor or students) or from Intelligent Agent emails. 

Unsubscribe from your email notifications

1. When you receive a notification in your email, select the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. 
   
2. A browser window/tab will open navigating you to a "Unsubscribe All Notifications" page. 
3. Select the Confirm button. 
   
4. A "you have been successfully unsubscribed" message displays. You may navigate away from this page at this point. 
   

Re-subscribe to your email notifications

1. Log in to your school's D2L Brightspace site. 
2. Select the personal menu in the minibar (i.e. where your name displays).
3. Select Notifications from the menu. 
4. On the Notifications page, notice your previous email selections under 'Instant Notifications' are grayed out. They are not active, but you can reactivate them easily!
   
5. Under the Contact Methods section, select the enable email notifications link.
   
6. Select your email and select Save. 
   
7. Remember to save the Notifications page.
