Using browser profiles to manage multiple accounts

If you're both an employee and a student, you may need to access two separate Microsoft 365 (M365) accounts [Employee Account and Student Account] on the same device. 

Use this method for a permanent setup that keeps both accounts separate within the same browser.

Supported Browsers:

  • ✅ Google Chrome

  • ✅ Microsoft Edge

  • ⚠️ Firefox (limited support via containers)

  • ❌ Safari (no profile support)

Setup in Chrome:

  1. Click your profile icon (top right)

  2. Select “Add”

  3. Name the profile (e.g., “Student”)

  4. Choose a theme/icon

  5. Sign in with your student StarID

Repeat to create a second profile for your employee account.

Setup in Edge:

  1. Click your profile icon

  2. Select “Add profile”

  3. Choose “Add” and sign in

  4. Customize the name and icon

Tips:

  • Pin each profile to your taskbar

  • Use distinct homepages and bookmarks

  • Customize themes to visually separate roles
